"When a man writes from his own mind, he writes very rapidly.
The greatest part of a writer's time is spent in reading, in order to write;
a man will turn over half a library to make a book." ~ Samuel Johnson

The greatest part of a man's time is spent in reading, in order to read; a man will turn over every library in town.

  1. I think his point was in order to write one should read a lot and your point is everyone should read a lot even if they don't write. Again another example for language is context sensitive. He wrote from a writer perspective and you read it from a reader perspective.

    栗子妹妹:         Samuel Johnson 有點自打嘴巴呢  ~  既然 ”... writes from his OWN MIND" 會是 ”writes very rapidly",便未必要與閱讀有關了,可能是個天才!
